Experience life on foot.

We're leaving for a long weekend in San Francisco/Napa Valley tomorrow and I need advice. Anyone have any suggestions for must-see-places or must-frequent-restaurants? We are staying in Fisherman's Wharf, and plan to navigate SF by foot/cable car/cabs until we meet up with our friends to go to NV. The things I know of which I would like to hit up in our short period of time:

  • Golden Gate Park
  • Lombard Street
  • Alcatraz Island (maybe, although time might dictate otherwise)
  • Union Square
  • Chinatown
  • Pier 39
  • Japanese Gardens
  • Eating roasted garlic from a stand with sourdough bread, i.e. my idea of Heaven

I know a lot of you have been there, so please share your experiences! I am using you as my research/travel guide. It is much appreciated :)

1. Maido is an awesome pen/stationary store. It's like being in Japan.

2. The Winchester House is in San Jose. Might be a little out of the way but could be interesting.
