I would move to San Diego for the beaches and the jalapeno cream sauce

Last weekend I took an impromtu trip to San Diego, where Andrew is going to be for work this week and a boy's trip this following weekend. This was my second year to meet him there during his Science-Geek Conference, and every time, I like it a little more. Andrew basically has to drag me off the beach every day, because I can't get enough of it. If I've come to ANY conclusions as of late, it's that I need to retire on water. Like, this year. Right now. There is no other way for me. Now if I could only scounge up the cool 1.5 Mill it costs to buy a dilapidated shack on Coronado... but those are just details, right?

This picture is making me dial for a facial STAT.
And maybe a chemical peel or five.

In my mind, this is what heaven feels like under my feet.

Oh no! A Science Geek has escaped the herd!

I even got to spend some time with my college friend Mau and her boyfriend Scott

(look I got his name right and everything)

and all of a sudden, I can breathe

It's been a while, about 5 years, since I've been incredibly overjoyed to see this word:

Hubba, hubba!

Yesterday was Janet's birthday.
She is beautiful, and makes a MEAN turkey burger.
So delicious, I can't describe, you'll just have to beg her to make one for you.

Just look at her? Aren't you jealous?

You Can Never Have Enough Sunscreen

Janet, Goldie and myself proved that this weekend:

NINE BOTTLES. That is for THREE PEOPLE. And in Goldie's defense, she only had one bottle, so Janet and I were the criminals bringing up the average. And Goldie brought yummy brownies this year, so she's ALL KINDS of redeeming herself this year. We still missed Amy & Emily though. They are representing bi-coastally.

We camped at Guadalupe State Park this year, and we did pretty well, what with remembering to do things we swore we would improve upon the following year, like bringing an air mattress (my left boob is thankful!) and a large tent who's doors DO zip shut. It was like a mirage:

This year we also went later in the spring/summer, so we were actually able to swim in the river:

We also, only got lost ONCE on the way up, which is a large improvement for us, and the whole time we were lost, we recognized being lost this way before. But as a result of getting not-lost-but-lost, we ran into some very curious donkeys:

We might need to improve upon our fire skills yet, although Goldie faithfully coddled our dwindling flames for 3 hours before it became The Fire That Would Not Be Put Out. Atleast it cooked our hotdogs and smores, allbeit not very quickly.

We took our regular hike down the river, although I have come to believe the hike gets shorter every year, or maybe just my level of Things I Am Willing To Cross In Flipflops tolerance has gone down. It was beautiful and peaceful though, and not quite as hot and sticky as there was potential to be in June in Texas. I think we have decided that late May might be the perfect time to go from now on. So let the plans begin for next year!

Moving to the De-sert, gonna eat a lotta Mexican Food...

I have decided to be part of a project team (at work) that will be moving me to El Paso, Texas for 8 months.

Starting mid-July.

This year.

Because I don't find wedding planning challenging enough. I like the extra hurdles of remote locations, 100-hour work shifts, and a November 1 major deadline (9 days before our wedding) to make me REALLY fiesty and frazzled.

The upside is that Sarah's parents live in El Paso, and if you haven't met them before, you should, at this very moment, because your life will never be the same afterwards.

(Sarah, I should totally get credit for hyperlinking you.)

Sarah runs Sarah's Parties, so if you have small spawn (or large spawn, we don't discriminate), you should meet her too. She will entice them with her fantabulous fiesta skills.

(That second link is like extra credit. The bonus round.)

Major concerns of temporarily moving to El Paso:

- My sanity
- My diet/fitness regime remaining at a good level
- Andrew's sanity (because he'll be crazed with missing me an all)
- Being not sick/tired/rundown come November

And on a good note, this weekend is our annual girl's camping trip! Woohoo!

And on a funny note, this is my sister:
